Church Edifice
Destroyed by fire in January 1978

Existing Church Edifice
During the 1880's, Macedonia Baptist Church was organized under the leadership of Pastor Kelly Lewis. The history of this church was further exemplified by the construction of the first church edifice on land purchased from the late Isaac Ketton.
During the 1890's, a second church edifice was constructed. In 1914, the congregation purchased a wooden structure from First Baptist Church of Monroe and moved this structure to the current location in sections using mules and wagons.
In January 1978, the church edifice was destroyed by fire. But by October 1978, the church perservered and completed a new edifice. The congregation's once dampened spirits turned to joy as they instituted second Sunday services as well as fourth Sunday services. Macedonia continued to expand its boundaries by purchasing four additional acres of land in 1984.
Progressively emerging, Macedonia instituted fifth Sunday services in April 1990 and in January 1991 began having services each Sunday.
Becoming one of Walton County's most progressive churches, Macedonia began expanding its walls in 1996 with the development of a new fellowship hall which was completed in May 1997.
Rev. Grady H. Hendricks, Jr. is the current pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Hendricks was installed as pastor in January 1993. As God continues increase the flock at Macedonia, we will collectively gather our worship and praise and sing forth shouts of praise for HE has brought us a mighty long way.
